Job description Leeward Construction is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role is primarily focused on accounts payable, supporting the smooth and efficient operations of our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of accounting processes, be highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities: · Enter financial data into accounting software with accuracy and attention to detail · Manage and track weekly forecasts of outgoing payables, ensuring accurate and timely processing · Work closely with vendors to confirm invoice details, ensure accurate approvals, and address any issues · Perform monthly reconciliations of vendor statements · Work with project management team to monitor subcontractor due dates and compliance, ensuring timely release of vendor payments · Assist in preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations as required by management · Support the month-end closing process and assist with audit preparation · Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, scanning, and assisting with office mailings · Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed · Assist with special accounting projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications: · Experience with accounting/bookkeeping principles · Proficiency in Excel · Strong attention to detail · Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate · High school diploma: degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred but not required
Pay will be commensurate with education and experience.
