CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR - ID# 224610. CLOSING DATE: September 17, 2024, or until filled. Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Department of Native Hawaiian Health, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $5,283 - $6,000/Mon.

DUTIES: Performs clinical research protocol activities and coordination to recruit, enroll and implement clinical exams as part of IRB-approved studies. Implements QI measures to ensure consistency and standardization of data collection on surveys and biological specimen collection. Assists PI with the preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and renewals, annual progress reports, and data safety monitoring reports and documents. Ensures quality of clinical exam procedures and tracks performance scorecards from central coordinating center. Able to train ongoing research trainees and/or GA researchers on procedures for clinical measures and research interviewing. Serves as liaison for coordinating center on clinical procedures, IRB, in synchrony with research administrator.

EDUCATION

Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in clinical epidemiology or clinical area such as nursing. (Bachelors Degree from an accredi

ed four (4) year college or university in a clinical epidemiology or clinical area such as nursing and two (2) years of clinical experience may substitute for a Masters Degree.).

EXPERIENCE

Two to four (2-4) years of experience working in clinical research studies as the primary research or study coordinator.

KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrated knowledge of clinical research concepts and medical terminology. Demonstrated knowledge of the IRB process, human subjects protection in research, as well as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance issues for the University of Hawaii (UH) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

ABILITIES and SKILLS

Excellent verbal and writing skills. Ability to supervise research assistants and technicians effectively and to communicate with other members of a multi-disciplinary research team. Demonstrated ability to use Apple or Windows-based software on mobile iPad or laptop computer such as Word, Access, Excel, etc. Must possess a valid drivers license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal drivers insurance equivalent to Hawaiis No-Fault Drivers Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must possess Certification in First Aid/CPR (or be able to obtain the certificate following the training provided within twelve (12) months from date of hire) and maintain throughout duration of employment. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
