Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant with varying levels of experience for a dynamic role. Depending on your background , you will engage in a range of accounting activities from preparing closing documentation to performing cost accounting activities. You will assist in gathering data, preparing analytical reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Your responsibilities will vary based on your level of experience, ranging from entry-level tasks to sr -level duties that include supervising professional staff and conducting complex analyses.

Hard Skills

  • Prepare closing documentation for sales, expenses, and inventories

  • Assist in the preparation of analytical reports

  • Test internal controls and MS Excel spreadsheets

  • Perform cost accounting activities

  • Prepare monthly financial reports

  • Conduct variance analyses to improve profitability

  • Maintain and control perpetual inventories

  • Establish estimated costs for project bids

  • Prepare forecasts and long-range plans

  • Handle accounting functions for fixed assets

  • Participate in internal control testing

  • Analyze recommended rates and fees based on cost analysis

Soft Skills

  • Provide internal and external support as needed

  • Assist operation managers in the preparation of AFE justifications

  • Participate in problem-solving with department teams

  • Monitor and report on departmental performance

  • Train and supervise junior accountants

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Work Environment

This role offers two potential office locations: one at the Sand Island office location and the other at the mining operation in Kaneohe. The candidate will be positioned based on their location and preference. This is an in-office role for either location.
