Humana Senior Problem, Incident and Event Management Engineer in Albany, New York

The Senior Problem, Incident and Event Management Engineer drives technical support teams to recover services during periods of service disruption or outages to key technology platforms/applications. The Senior Problem, Incident and Event Management Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Problem, Incident and Event Management Engineer establishes policies, processes and systems for the implementation of a quality incident management process. Monitors trends in incidents and issues. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work nontraditional schedule (2 nd shift or similar from an EST perspective)

  • ITSM experience

  • 3-5yrs Major Incident Management experience

  • Deep understanding of ITSM practices (Incident, Problem, Change, etc.)

  • Verbal and Written communication

  • Ability to disseminate summary, impacts and status updates around Major Incidents to broad audiences of varying levels

  • Proven capability to produce crisp and robust written communications.

  • Ability to work with cross functional IT teams - internal and external (vendors/consultants)

  • Drive Major Incident calls/bridges - managing the participants with a focus on restoration actions

  • High level understanding of industry standard technologies - network, cloud, application support, etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft tools and other collaborative apps

Preferred Skills:

  • ITIL Certification

  • Familiar with industry standard on call paging solutions - Pager Duty, Service Now, xMatters, etc.

  • Experience implementing Incident Management methodologies within a Fortune 100 IT environment

  • Familiar with event correlation tools and functions

Work-At-Home Requirements:

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$86,600 - $119,200 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
