Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to be a part of our team in the local government industry based in Hopewell, Virginia, 23860, United States. As an Accounting Clerk, your primary role will be to manage financial transactions, ensure accurate record keeping, provide in-person customer service and address customer inquiries effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handle customer payments and process tax payments

• Provide exemplary in-person customer service

• Accurately maintain customer credit records

• Manage billing and invoice processing tasks

• Perform data entry tasks with precision

• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP for financial management tasks

• Carry out account reconciliation activities

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, with the ability to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), including managing outgoing bills and invoices.

• Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR), including overseeing all incoming payments to the local government.

• Background in Billing, capable of issuing and managing bills and invoices efficiently.

• Strong Data Entry skills, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and updated.

• Proficiency in Invoice Processing, with the ability to handle high volumes of invoices.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, using it to create spreadsheets, financial reports and perform complex calculations.

• Experience with Oracle, specifically its financial management software.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks, using it for various accounting tasks including income and expense tracking.

• Knowledge of SAP, particularly its finance and accounting modules.
