Eurofins Media Prep Technician: 2nd Shift! in Horsham, Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

Eurofins SF Analytical Laboratories is searching for a media prep technician to perform all daily assignments needed to maintain media supply for the labs. The primary responsibilities will be to prepare and sterilize media for microbiological testing. The position will also include washing laboratory glassware, sterilizing microbiological waste, and disposing of waste post sterilization.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare liquid media and agar for use in Microbiological testing.

  • Operate autoclaves for sterilization of media and waste.

  • Perform routine autoclave maintenance.

  • Operate pH meter and lab balance.

  • Use automatic washers and perform manual washing to clean glassware.

  • Document media preparation, autoclave usage, equipment usage and calibration clearly and accurately in laboratory logbooks.

  • Report all equipment, technical, or workload problems immediately to management.

  • Monitor and maintain proper housekeeping in applicable work areas.

  • Adhere to company health and safety policies; including eye protection, lab coats, and hand protection.

  • Demonstrate good laboratory practices (GLP).

  • Follow all company analytical and administrative Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Basic Minimum Requirements: 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma with courses in Chemistry, Biology and Algebra.

  • Authorization to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Requirements: 

  • Ability to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Must be willing to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Listen and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

  • Possess the ability to reason and adapt to changing media needs of the laboratory. 

  • Possess exemplary organizational skills.

  • Work during assigned hours and overtime or weekends when requested.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift approximately 30 lbs.

Position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., with additional hours, as needed.  Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Horsham, PA are encouraged to apply.
