WTW Alert:24 Security Risk Analyst in Houston, Texas

A great opportunity to join our team as an Alert:24 Security Risk Analyst. The successful candidate will work as part of the Alert:24 Crisis Support team within WTW’s Crisis Management Division.

Crisis Management is a global division within WTW’s insurance broking arm providing insurance products to protect client’s people and assets. WTW’s Crisis Management division offer insurance products such as Special Crime (formerly known as Kidnap for Ransom), Active Assailant, Accident & Health, Evacuation and Terrorism & Political Violence.

Alert:24 is WTW’s in-house security risk advisory and 24-hour crisis support client service and the team sit within the Crisis Management division. Alert:24 provide clients with intelligence, consultancy and training to support their physical security risk management planning. The team also provide a 24/7 incident triage and crisis support service to clients. (Please note this is not a Cybersecurity/ IT position).

The Role

The successful candidate will be joining the Alert:24 Crisis Support team as a Security Risk Analyst. The primary responsibilities for the role are:

  • Supporting WTW Crisis Management insurance clients through the security incident timeline, notifying designated third-party assistance providers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely response to insured security events.

  • Monitoring current and emerging threats which concern our clients and carrying out crisis response operational duties.

  • Providing timely intelligence and analysis to clients and internal teams

  • Producing a range of global intelligence products to help our clients better understand and mitigate risks to their people traveling and operating across the globe.

  • Maintaining a high-level of coordination and collaboration across our global hubs, ensuring 24/7 continuity of service for our clients.

  • Supporting our team of security consultants who provide a range of client-facing training and consultancy services.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a specialist global team that provides a 24/7 client service through 3 teams based in Sydney (AUS), Houston (US) and Reading (UK).

As part of this role, you will be required to manage crisis response related incidents, which require communication directly with clients, security and assistance providers as well as internal stakeholders to help clients during crises and emergencies. You will be involved in the day-to-day monitoring of global security developments, using social media, open-source reporting and purpose-made risk platforms, to identify threats to our clients based on their risk profiles and exposures, alerting them as necessary. In order to support clients, you will work closely with colleagues and internal teams to conduct research and write bespoke reports as well as providing mitigating security advice. You will be supported by an experienced management team in the execution of your responsibilities.

The shift pattern is day shifts only, during set hours; however, workweek can and does span weekend days.

A background in security and/or intelligence is preferred, although any relevant experience or knowledge of crisis management, global intelligence, including relating to medical, natural and cyber risks, is advantageous. Strong intelligence analysis, global monitoring and knowledge of global developments is an important need for this position. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player.

The Requirements

  • Master’s degree and/or a degree in a Political Science, International Studies, History and/or security discipline or related field is a desirable.

  • A background in security risk is a desirable but not essential.

  • Consistent and thorough knowledge of global developments and/or regional intelligence conditions and environs is highly preferred.

  • Strong global monitoring, intelligence and research capabilities.

  • The ability to communicate accurately and clearly.

  • Able to work effectively in a small team.

  • A keen interest in current affairs, geopolitics and security monitoring and analysis.

  • High degree of self-discipline and commitment.

  • Effective report writing skills, with fine attention to detail.

  • Strong IT skills is an advantage.

  • Experience of mapping software (QGIS, ArcGIS etc.) is desirable but not essential.

  • Conversational ability in a second language desirable but not essential
