Position Description

This application development position resides within the Business Systems application team. The successful candidate will be working for one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. The Business Systems application team develops and supports many custom solutions for approximately 84,000 miles of natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and carbon dioxide (CO2) pipelines and over 150 terminals for storing and handling various chemicals and other products.

In the Enterprise Systems group, the candidate will support various applications for Natural Gas Pipeline Operations. This position ensures that business processes meet the strategic business needs.

The candidate will participate in project meetings, provide input to project plans, and provide status updates. Day-to-day tasks include working with internal teams, maintaining documentation, troubleshooting issues, coding, testing, and providing support to Natural Gas field operations employees.

The position also includes the development of .net, C#. Development responsibilities include the analysis, design, coding, documentation, deployment, and support of custom applications. Miscellaneous duties include report writing, SQL, software upgrades, data manipulation, extraction, and performance tuning.

Position Requirements

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required- IT or Business Administration preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of Finance experience preferred

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with SQL Server Databases.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and developing applications and related systems in the oil and gas industry is a plus.

  • Experience developing Win and Web Applications in .Net.

  • SQL Development (Oracle and MSSQL preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.

  • Experience in Data Visualization/Reporting (SSRS, PowerBI)

  • Preferred experience in .NET programming languages (VB.NET, C#, VBA)

  • Business management experience: Accumulate, review and communicate financial information provided by multiple data sources and individuals.

  • Business reporting: Design and implement new or enhancements to existing budget, forecast, variance, and risk reports as well as others. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of new and existing reports.

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize appropriately between Natural Gas Operations IT and business needs.

  • Identify opportunities and develop automated solutions to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the financial reporting / forecasting processes, as well as other Operational needs

  • Ability to provide routine on-call support

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with supporting third party applications.

  • Experience in Oil and Gas industry.

  • Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills.
