Our team is looking for an experienced and dynamic Cargo & Stowage Integration professional who will primarily be responsible for cargo and stowage operations support in Mission Services (MS). This position reports to the Cargo Manager and is onsite based at our Houston Headquarters facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Commercial Vehicle Providers to analyze cargo, create optimal stowage solutions while meeting all requirements, and find efficiencies for Axiom human spaceflight missions and cargo resupply missions

  • Document and implement processes associated with stowage analysis, integration, manifesting, packing, requirements, procedures, tools, inventory, console support products, training, certification, and on-orbit procedures

  • Perform flight hardware processing including following requirements, inspection, fit checks, weights, dimensions, and physical processing

  • Consult and collaborate on integrated tool solutions that satisfy mission requirements across functional teams within the organization including but not limited to the Flight Operations Team, Mission Planning, Systems Engineering, and Customer Experience

  • Coordinate with teams for scheduling, defining, and procuring consumables and packaging materials necessary to support cargo packing

  • Be proactive, participate in meetings, identify process improvements, and implement new ideas for efficient operational workflows

  • Submit and negotiate cargo manifests and packing plans with NASA for Axiom missions

  • Support the Axiom Integration and Stowage (AxIS) flight control discipline, train and fly real-time Private Astronaut Missions (PAM) in Mission Control Center – Axiom (MCC-A)

  • Perform other systems integration tasks as required, including bringing operational perspectives to Axiom Station systems teams

  • Travel as required to support mission integration

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field; other degrees acceptable with relevant work experience

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in aerospace, mission integration or mission operations

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Both an office and a lab environment can also involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
