Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
A company that specializes in custom valves and actuators is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist. The machinist will operate an Okuma Machine (U4000 model) with Okuma controls. While the ability to run a mill as well is preferred, it is not mandatory. The parts machined range from 1/2" to 24" OD, including materials such as 718 inconel, titanium grade 5 and 12, all chromes, carbon steel, and duplex. The machinist will work with tight tolerances of +/- .001 and must be proficient in reading blueprints, specifically familiar with datum points in GD&T. The role involves setting up and editing the machine independently. Additionally, the machinist is expected to maintain their machines, ensuring proper oil levels and coolant, treating the machines as if they were their own car.
Must Have Skills:
Operating Okuma Machine (U4000 model) with Okuma controls
Machining parts ranging from 1/2" to 24" OD
Working with materials like 718 inconel, titanium grade 5 and 12, all chromes, carbon steel, and duplex
Maintaining tight tolerances of +/- .001
Reading blueprints and understanding datum points in GD&T
Setting up and editing CNC machines

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in North Houston, Texas.
Work Environment
This is a 2nd shift position with shifts ranging from 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on the prior week's productivity. Shift times are 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM, or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM. A $3/hr shift differential is provided.
