Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Compensation Specialist who will play a pivotal role in administering and managing Cotton’s compensation programs, ensuring they align with our performance-driven culture. Reporting to the Total Rewards Director, this role involves conducting market research, job evaluations, compensation analysis, and supporting employees with compensation-related inquiries. The Compensation Specialist will also help design and implement compensation strategies that are compliant with regulations and best practices, ensuring Cotton remains competitive in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, administer, and coordinate employee compensation programs, including market pricing, base pay, bonus plans, and merit increase processes to support business goals and market trends.

  • Conduct salary surveys and labor market analysis to identify trends and maintain competitive compensation structures.

  • Advise and train HR and management on compensation best practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Oversee job classifications, including quality control for new and existing positions, and perform job audits as needed.

  • Provide detailed compensation reports and presentations for various stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for compensation-related inquiries, delivering timely and professional support to internal teams and external vendors.

  • Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of job descriptions, ensuring consistency across the organization.

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to conduct data analysis, manage complex spreadsheets, and create compensation-related reports.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant compensation laws and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.

  • Assist with HR projects and manage vendor partnerships related to compensation software.

  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, accounting, or a related field is preferred.

  • Certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or CCP are a plus.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of compensation experience in a company with 1000+ employees.

  • Proficiency in job leveling, salary benchmarking, and incentive plan design.

  • Expertise in data analysis, market trends, and compliance with compensation regulations.

  • Experience with HRIS (ADP preferred) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, vlookups).

  • Familiarity with Power BI for compensation dashboards and reports is an advantage.
