Robert Half seeks a Controller to become a part of a successful company and take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Houston, Texas region. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. You will succeed in this position if you can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Key responsibilities

• Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

• Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

• Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

• Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

• Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

• Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

• Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

• CPA/MBA preferred

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller

• Solid understanding of percentage of completion (POC)

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
