TheControls Technicianis responsible for performing a variety of technical duties relating to electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control functions for a complex plastic recycling plant. Installs, programs, inspects, troubleshoots, and adjusts electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related systems to meet design specifications and maximize efficiency and functionality. Preforms basic PLC programming for utilities information systems that deal with differential logic controls (ladder, relay, Boolean), and maintains all site VFDs, PLCs, RTUs, within the companys telecommunications network.

Pay:$23- $27/hr.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs tests and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment; interprets readings and outputs of equipment; ensures proper functioning of equipment and related information systems.
  • Sets up and operates specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Assist in the integration of software or hardware components, using computer, microprocessor, or control architecture.
  • Work in a hands-on capacity to manufacture and assemble designed control systems and prototype/proof of concept equipment.
  • Inspect all functionable pieces of equipment to verify they meet all specific regulations (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ability to create electrical wireline documentation for ease of traceability and maintenance.
  • Analyze current processes to determine if improvement can be implemented by implementing further automation.
  • Interpret analytical data needed to design systems for automation to increase production efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • AA/AA Degree with experience in IandC or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient with electrical testing instruments
  • Working knowledge of NEC
  • Knowledge and experience interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics and wireline diagrams.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits.
  • Be able to maintain electrical power distribution systems and switch gear.
  • Knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
