Position Description

As a member of the Data & Records Integrity group, the successful candidate will conduct project closure package audits across all Kinder Morgan business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits on project closure documents to ensure material and weld traceability, verification of qualifications, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. –

  • Ensure each Project Closure Package meets all Kinder Morgan and regulatory agency requirements.

  • Maintain Closure Package status using Project Tracker, monitoring the progress, and addressing pending issues throughout the audit process.

  • Perform detailed technical reviews of engineering documentation for natural gas project closure packages, including drawings, bill of materials, purchase orders, material certifications, NDE Reader Sheets, pressure test reports, qualifications, etc., identifying and analyzing discrepancies.

  • Conduct in-depth comparative analysis of drawings, sketches, and technical documents to identify and resolve data anomalies.

    Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

  • Preferred: College degree or technical courses in training, auditing, and/or technical writing.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent organization and time management abilities.

  • Knowledge of Kinder Morgan and regulatory agency requirements related to closure package documents.

  • Positive attitude and ability to foster a team-oriented atmosphere.

  • Investigative mindset with a strong drive to solve problems and find answers to missing or incorrect/incomplete information.

  • Creative thinker capable of finding unique solutions to audit issues.

  • Above average oral and written communication skills, along with strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other commercial and internal applications.

  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision.

  • Capacity to organize and prioritize daily tasks while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to work as part of a team.

  • Self-motivated and able to follow instructions.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with various levels of internal management and staff, as well as external clients and vendors.

  • Punctuality and reliability in work attendance.

  • Able to periodically lift file boxes, filled with closure package documentation, and move short distances.

  • Job level commensurate with experience and skill-set.

    Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with construction as-built markup drawings, survey data, MTRs, bills of material, and other project-related documentation.

  • Experience with document auditing.

  • Familiarity with energy project scopes of work.
