Responsibilities

Weatherford is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Artificial Lift Product Line for our Spencer Road Research & Development facility in Houston, TX.

Location: 11909 SPENCER RD HOUSTON, Texas 77041-3011

As a Mechanical Design Engineer within our downhole pump Engineering team, you will be working on new product design, product testing, existing product improvements, sustaining Engineering, and providing technical support to sales and manufacturing.

If you enjoy new/existing product design, testing, and working with mechanical assemblies, joining our team would be a great choice. This position encompasses many aspects of Engineering including fatigue, shear, overload, corrosion, hydraulics and fluid dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with downhole pump and peripheral components. This process will include, new product design, sustaining design, stress analysis, material selection, cost estimation, tolerance studies, testing, BOM creation, production drawing/part number creation, and product implementation.

  • You will perform Engineering layouts for fit, form and function checking.

  • You will perform and/or co-ordinate relevant lab tests to validate designs.

  • You will interact with other Engineers as part of a Project team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-6+ years experience designing/working with multiple component assemblies.

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
