Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Director of Pre Admit and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the EKG tech is responsible for cleaning, maintaining and stocking areas in a safe, neat manner, and assisting in moving and transporting patients. Performing Vital signs, EKG's, drawing labs, weighing and measuring patients. moving equipment as needed. Restocking and ordering supplies.

1. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, cleans area after each patient.

2. Assists in transporting patients to the Operating Room, to the floor, or to their vehicle as needed.

3. Ensures adequate amounts of equipment and supplies in collaboration with Director, with re-ordering and re-stocking as needed.

4. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the collection and processing of laboratory samples.

5. Performs 12-lead EKG testing.

6. Provides clerical duties related to job.

7. Maintains patient logs in designated areas.

8. Other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required

• A minimum of 1 year Phlebotomy experience required (be familiar with lab collections and blood cultures); No new grads

• A minimum of 1 year EKG experience required; No new grads

• Must be able to work 2-3 days per week, 10 hour shifts (8:00 am - 6:30 pm)

• Must be able to work a Monday

• Must be able to transport patients throughout the facility for diagnostic testing
