Indorama Ventures Environmental Specialist in Houston, Texas

Job Description :

Indorama Ventures- Indovinya is currently looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our Indovinya team located in the Dayton, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and maintaining the Dayton site environmental programs and activities to ensure compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations, Corporate and Division standards. Participates in other non-EHS site-based activities as needed to improve performance in areas of safety, environmental, quality, reliability, cost control, capital deployment, etc.

What will be expected from you?

  • Ensures the site provides a safe work environment for our employees, contractors, and surrounding communities.

  • Administers and maintains the site’s environmental permits (ex. NSR, NPDES, RCRA) to ensure compliance with regulatory programs. Supports regulatory permitting projects for the facility.

  • Responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing compliance reporting for the facility.

  • Provides environmental technical support and guidance to plant management and supervision.

  • Oversees EHS contractors and service providers, including, but not limited to, LDAR, coordination of waste shipments, etc.

  • Supports the safe execution of operations and maintenance activities in the field.

  • Supports the development, implementation and assessment of site Environmental systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Compiles accurate and timely regulatory compliance submittals, reports, and notifications.

  • Monthly compilation and analysis of KPI data to ensure compliance with operating permits, Environmental regulatory requirements, and EHS management systems.

  • Supports and participates in applicable PSM compliance activities such as MOC, PHA and PSSR.

  • Implements and manages programs to achieve the goals of the ACC Responsible Care program.

  • Serve as the site TSCA coordinator.

  • Provide leadership and support for site sustainability initiatives.

  • Ensures thorough incident investigations are conducted and appropriate corrective/preventive actions implemented. Lead and/or participate in incident investigations as needed.

  • Supports the site incident management system (e.g., Intelex).

  • Participate in other non-safety and non-environmental plant activities as needed to improve performance in areas of safety, environmental, reliability, cost control, capital deployment, etc.

  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed.

  • If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Assist other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals.

  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

  • Participates in and completes company required training programs.

  • Interacts with government EHS agencies and serves as the environmental point-of-contact during compliance audits/inspections.

  • Supports the Sustainability program for the site, compiles and submits required sustainability data to meet corporate reporting requirements.

  • Leads and administers site Environmental programs and compliance for all disciplines.

  • Standing Meetings.

  • Monitors and reviews applicable KPI data, trends, reports, etc.

  • In-field Environmental assessments, interactions, and support.

  • Agency Interface, Reponses, Audits.

  • Other Administrative Tasks.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • Experience in management of environmental, air, waste, and water programs required.

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental and/or EHS Programs preferred.

  • Technical and field EHS support at chemical or petrochemical facilities required.

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with TCEQ Agency interactions.

  • Above average proficiency in Clean Air Act regulations, proficient in waste and wastewater regulations.

  • Proficient in EHS Regulations.

  • Strong oral and written communications, including the ability to effectively present to both large and small groups.
