Robert Half Financial Reporting Manager in Houston, Texas

Description A growing oil and gas manufacturing company located in West Houston is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager (SEC and Internal reporting).

Job duties include:

• Assisting with preparing and coordinating the month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial closing

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including but not limited to: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Equity Statement and Cash Flow Statement.

• Responsible for calculation of equity shift related to the non-controlling interest. Prepares earnings per share and weighted average shares outstanding calculations on a quarterly basis.

• Coordinating the external reporting requirements with the Securities and Exchange Commission

• Assist with preparing monthly management packages and Board reports

• Researching accounting topics to ensure the Company’s compliance with US generally accepted accounting principles

• Coordinate the annual audits and quarterly reviews with the external auditors, preparing the Company’s responses pertaining to materials to be included in the audit work papers, and acting as a liaison between the auditors and Company personnel

• Develop and implement new accounting and reporting processes and procedures, and ensure key policies and procedures are documented and/or followed to satisfy internal controls and audit requirements

• Identify areas in need of improvement in financial accounting applications and operational procedures and effectively communicate these value-added solutions both orally and in writing to senior department and operational finance personnel

• Supervise a Senior Accountant, while working closely with the Corporate Controller and other functional leaders to ensure completeness and accuracy in all elements of financial reporting.

Ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus.

• 4+ years of big 4 experience with SEC clients

• 3+ years experience with a publicly traded company responsible for SEC reporting

• Experience with Workiva or similar system

• Experience in the energy industry, including oilfield services

Compensation is up to 175K plus bonus.

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Experience with Balance Sheet Account management is required

• Should have knowledge of Compliance procedures and SEC Reporting

• Must hold expertise in Technical Accounting practices

• Experience in preparing Consolidated Financial Statements is mandatory

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
