Responsibilities

About the role

The Global ERP Director will lead the strategic direction, implementation, and optimization of ALS’s ERP systems, driving transformation across Finance, Supply Chain, and other core business areas. This role will focus on harmonizing global ERP operations, establishing unified processes, and fostering organizational alignment to maximize ERP efficiency and ROI. The successful candidate will oversee a global, cross-functional team and collaborate closely with executive leadership, including the CFO, and other business unit leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

ERP Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and execute a global ERP strategy that aligns with ALS’s long-term objectives, ensuring consistency and integration across all regions.

  • Drive the consolidation and optimization of existing ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Navision) to establish a standardized, scalable solution.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in defining business requirements, setting priorities, and developing the roadmap for ERP initiatives.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, providing insights on ERP trends, best practices, and technology advancements.

Global Implementation and Deployment

  • Oversee the ERP deployment strategy, including planning, phased rollouts, and change management across all regions.

  • Coordinate with IT and business leaders to ensure smooth ERP implementation across Finance, Supply Chain, and other core functions.

  • Establish a framework for global ERP governance, ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Process Optimization and Standardization

  • Collaborate with regional and functional leaders to standardize processes within the ERP system, focusing on Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize ERP usage, increase operational efficiency, and reduce costs.

  • Work with IT, Finance, and Operations teams to define KPIs and establish a performance monitoring system for ongoing optimization.

Vendor and Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with ERP vendors, implementation partners, and other external consultants to ensure alignment with project objectives.

  • Oversee contract negotiation, scope definition, and performance management with third-party providers.

  • Drive cost-effective strategies for ERP implementation, support, and maintenance through effective vendor partnerships.

Change Management and Communication

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive change management plan to facilitate user adoption and engagement across the organization.

  • Work with communications teams to craft and deliver clear, consistent messages to stakeholders about ERP progress and benefits.

  • Facilitate regular ERP Steering Committee and Business Owner meetings, ensuring alignment on key decisions and project milestones.

Technical Oversight and System Integration

  • Ensure ERP architecture aligns with ALS’s IT standards, security protocols, and business objectives.

  • Coordinate with IT operations, data management, and infrastructure teams to ensure ERP system integration and seamless data flow.

  • Lead efforts to maintain system integrity, performance, and scalability, working with IT architects to define technical standards.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build and lead a high-performance global ERP team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members, ensuring alignment with current ERP technologies and methodologies.

  • Oversee resource allocation, including recruiting skilled ERP professionals and managing project budgets.

Qualifications

About the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in an enterprise systems management and successful global implementation projects, managing support and technical Oracle ERP experience in Financials and Supply Chain is required.

  • 3-5 years of leadership responsibility managing midsize to large teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders .

  • Proven experience leading large-scale ERP initiatives in a multinational organization, ideally with Oracle Cloud or Navision.

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems architecture, data integration, and business process management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.

  • Deep expertise in change management, business transformation, and global ERP implementation best practices.

  • Ability to travel, up to 20%.
