Honeywell Building Automation Technician (HVAC) in Houston, Texas

As a Lead Field Service Technician - Building Automation Systems (BAS) here at Honeywell, you will be accountable for providing technical expertise and guidance in the installation, maintenance, and repair of BAS equipment. The main function of this position is to respond and resolve complex service calls, providing technical support and troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and work material, and preventive maintenance may be assigned as well. This customer will have various products installed that fall into the – HVAC, automation controls, life safety, fire, and security systems category as well as their associated computer systems. Level 3 Technicians will be expected to coach and mentor more junior technicians. The goal is to ensure system up-time and efficiency.

You will report directly to our Field Service Manager and you'll work out of our Houston, NASA location, choosing between a schedule of four 10 hour days; 7am to 6pm OR five 8 hours; 7am to 4pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to BAS equipment on-site.

• Program more than one system.

• Perform system back-ups and install appropriate updates and patches.

• Conduct system inspections and preventive maintenance activities.

• Run one-off problems, scenarios, and integrations based on the needs of the customer.

• Program EBI’s.

• Understand and apply knowledge of virtual machines, system imaging, and networking to serve the needs of the customers.

• Complete required documentation for work performed or other contractual obligations.

• Adhere to proper use of safety personal protection equipment.

• Obtain Security and other clearances as required by customer.

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 5 years HVAC Building Automation Systems experience, including operating a voltage multi-meter and wiring relays.

  • Ability to work around 120 volts.

  • Ability to work independently 75% of the time.

  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to Honeywell.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams

  • Ability to lead, mentor and transfer knowledge

  • A solid grasp of IT network communications technology

  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, DDC (Direct Digital Control), and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) concepts

  • 5 years of experience with Comfort Point 1 programming

  • Completion of Tridium Niagara AX training or equivalent experience

  • Strong problem-solving and thoughtful abilities
