Honeywell Machinist - Level 4 - 1st Shift in Pasadena, Texas

In this role you will be responsible for producing high quality products and services for our customers. You will assemble and inspect the product to ensure the highest quality product is provided to our customers. You will be responsible for your work area, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the area. You will set up and monitor the production of the product in your area and participate in the continuous improvement process at the site to address safety, production, and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricates, maintains, repairs and/or alters parts and objects using a variety of hand tools and Machines and following instructions, specifications, technical manuals, etc.

  • Set up and Operate machines in order to machine parts to established specifications with minimal supervision. Work on blueprints and work instructions (SOS’s) for the manufacture of production components. Change over equipment. Identify and drive improvements to reduce change over time.

  • Compares finished work to specifications using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Performs required maintenance of equipment and machines in the machine shop.

  • Proper use of tools and safe work practices. Assure safe operation and care of equipment.

  • Supports the Honeywell Operating System. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Share knowledge with other employees to improve production, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve safe work practices. (TPM, 5S, SMED, CI, RPS, etc.).

  • Performs related duties such as cleaning work area, tools and equipment; maintaining records and logs; and drawing sketches of parts or components to be machined.

  • Record and report production data. Analyze data and production reports. Prepare reports concerning assigned unit activities to provide information to supervisors and others.

  • Maintain inventory of parts, supplies and materials needed to complete assigned work.

  • Reviews plans, specifications, diagrams, etc. to determine dimensions and tolerances of components to be machined and to determine the tools, materials and equipment required to complete assigned project.

  • Read and interpret drawings and drawing changes.

  • Provide on-the-job training for employees.

    This is a 1st shift role. Hours are 7:30am to 4pm

    Must Haves

  • 5+ Years of CNC Machine experience

  • 2+ Years of Lathe/Turning experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

    We Value

  • Microsoft Office skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting.

  • Knowledge of lean concepts (5S, visual management, kanban, single piece flow, etc.)

  • Ability to collaborate with others and work independently.

  • Ability to identify key details.

  • Ability to troubleshoot.
