Description

We are seeking an experienced Midstream Accountant with specialized knowledge in gas plant assets to join our team in Downtown Houston. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the midstream sector, specifically focused on gas plant assets, and proficiency in Quorum ERP software.

Midstream Accountant Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of gas plant asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, impairment testing, and disposal. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to gas plant assets, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide insights to management on asset performance and trends.

• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts for gas plant assets. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations related to gas plant assets. Support audit activities by providing documentation and explanations as needed.

• Partner with project teams to provide financial analysis and support for capital projects related to gas plant assets. Monitor project costs and capitalization criteria.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the asset accounting function. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement changes and streamline workflows.

  Requirements

Midstream Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA designation preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in accounting roles within the midstream sector, with a focus on gas plant assets.

• Proficiency in Quorum ERP software is required.

• Strong understanding of asset accounting principles and practices.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
