SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager role is to manage overall clinical operations, coordinate staff management, patient care, and customer service.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

· Designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing staffing plans, in collaboration with leadership, considering skill mix, staff, and patient care requirements
· Assists in the implementation and monitoring of the budget and participates in the development of strategies needed to effectively balance competing demands

· Serves as a change agent, leading others in understanding the importance, necessity, effect and process of change

Education
Required : Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Experience
Required : Five years of professional nursing experience, to include one year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities.
Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
