Jake's Finer Foods Operations Clerk - Warehousing & Logistics in Houston, Texas

General Purpose of Job:

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for scheduling all inbound deliveries and unloading fee charges and collections. They assist the department with data entry including but not limited to payroll and pulling reports. This position requires extreme attention to detail and a sense of urgency in serving fellow team members, vendors and inbound drivers, which are our customers. Additionally, this position handles load building, dispatching loads to outside carriers, and other invoicing responsibilities related to our 3PL operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following – other duties may be assigned:

The core responsibilities of the Operations Clerk include but are not limited to:

  • Have a positive and humble attitude towards team members, customers and other stakeholders.

  • Daily Warehouse Clerk duties:

  • Build and dispatch loads to outside carriers.

  • Invoicing for Peachtree and Jake’s backhauls.

  • Update the Unloader spreadsheet with all inbound POs that hire an unloader.

  • Schedule all appointments into Retalix Dock Scheduler

  • Short on load research communication

  • Pull the Day Warehouse performance report

  • Pull the Night Warehouse performance report

  • Arrange all return to vendors and pick-ups

  • File previous day credits

  • File inbound inspections

  • File outbound inspections

  • Coordinate all UPS and Fed Ex inbound and outbound deliveries

  • Schedule broken pallet pick ups

  • Review warehouse personnel time punches daily and work to get correction made when a punch is missing.

  • Input piece pay detail and hours in spreadsheets and Paycom.

  • Operate as backup for various position in the warehouse department.

  • Complete any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must pass all screens

  • Willing to work additional hours, holidays and weekends as requested

  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred.

  • Attention to accuracy and detail; must be able to accurately keep records and possess organizational skills

  • Displays professionalism, a good work ethic, and is accountable for one’s actions

  • Act in an ethical manner, treat team members, customers, vendors and visitors with respect, and is adaptable to a changing environment

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and effectively delegate in a fast-paced, detailed and deadline oriented environment.

  • Refined interpersonal skills and professionalism.

  • Highly developed communication (verbal and written) and listening skills

  • Highly developed analytical and decision-making skills

  • Punctuality and reliability

  • Adhere to all general safety rules

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word)

Physical Requirements – Other duties may be assigned:

  • Ability to maintain a moderate level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time as required.

  • Ability to operate necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware and equipment at a high level.

  • Ability to perform the following physical activities: fine manipulating with hands, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
