Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Per Diem Pharmacy Technician II in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

Assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law. Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers. Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions. Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist.

Job Type: Per Diem

Salary Range: $22.99 - $23.01 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Qualifications

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred: N/A

Experience

Required: Minimum 2 - 4 years retail pharmacy experience

OR

Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program

Preferred: HMO and 3rd party managed care experience

License(s)

Required: TSBP Registration

Preferred: PTCB Certification

Communicate

Required: To read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write

information on prescriptions.

Able to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems

Preferred: Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist.

Special Skills

Required : Operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions.

Math cash handling – able to add and subtract; able to make changes; able complete daily cash report.

Type 20 WPM.

Preferred : 10 key by touch

Other

Required: Stress Tolerance – to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast-paced environment.

Physical stamina – to work in fast paced environment, and maneuver around pharmacy.

Able to travel to multiple pharmacy locations

Preferred: N/A
