What You'll Do

Serta Simmons is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager for our Houston, TX plant.

In this role, you will oversee and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations, high-quality production, and adherence to safety standards.

You will lead a team to drive performance improvements, manage supply chain and logistics, and implement Lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.

How You'll Do It:

  • Overall Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including supply management, production scheduling, manufacturing, shipping, warehouse management, maintenance, people management, and implementation of change initiatives.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Build a safety culture and implement safety policies and training in compliance with company safety programs and OSHA regulations to minimize work-related injuries.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for site operations.

  • Safety Culture: Drive the implementation of safety policies and training to create a strong safety culture.

  • Performance Review: Set up a review process to analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational data to address nonconformity and operational issues.

  • Production Standards: Collaborate with managers to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and gather necessary data on customer orders and delivery.

  • Production Planning: Plan, monitor, and direct production, balancing customer service, cost factors, and optimization of people and equipment in a just-in-time environment.

  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and enhance product quality and safety.

  • Schedule Management: Oversee revisions to product schedules and priorities due to equipment failures or operational issues, and consult with Engineering on equipment modifications and continuous improvement efforts.

  • People Management: Supervise, schedule, and evaluate the performance of direct and indirect reports; address performance concerns, discipline, and employee relations matters while ensuring consistency with company policies and procedures.

  • Regional Partnership: Partner with Regional Operations Leaders to manage plant profitability and actively champion all quality and Lean initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, materials management, logistics, and quality control.

  • 5+ years of experience in Safety and Risk Management programs.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience , with Green Belt certification preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
