Key Responsibilities:

*Please note that this role is hybrid and requires to be onsite 2-3 days a week in Houston or Chicago.

We are looking for a results oriented, meticulous, and experienced architect to join our hard-working digital technology airports operation team. As the autonomous Operations and Robotics Architect, you have responsibility in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing various systems and integrations for the airports operation portfolio.

You will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and validation of automated operations at the airport using robotics, IOT and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

This role requires a deep understanding of business and technical skills to rapidly design well-architected solutions that will help accelerate the automation adoption at the airport.

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves automated operations equipment, tooling, and processes

  • Engage with collaborators to understand business requirements, technology, and user expectations and own the conversation to define the architecture

  • Understand the end-state vision, goals and strategy to design the automation and robotics roadmap for Airports operation portfolio

  • Anticipate future technology requirements and communicate those to the leadership and multi-functional teams

  • Serve as a recognized Engineering Domain Expert in ASRS and AGVs with overall responsibility for establishing operational methodologies in this area

  • Build relationships with senior leadership. Engage and evangelize recommendations to senior leadership teams

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Actively staying informed about industry trends, user feedback, and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Software development or architect roles

  • Automation engineering experience

  • Understanding of system architecture principles, including the ability to craft scalable and reliable architectures

  • Ability to design effective content models that align with organizational goals and user needs

  • Leadership experience and the ability to guide and encourage a team. Project management skills may also be beneficial.

  • An approach for continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends, new technologies, and standard processes

  • Experience in common architecture frameworks such as Microservices

  • Experience in crafting and building applications using AWS (or Azure or GCP) cloud architecture & services and support of highly available and resilient multi-region platforms

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree

  • AWS certification

  • 1-3 years of automation engineering experience

  • Robotics experience

  • API robmanagement

  • Familiarity with relevant robotics technologies and products

  • Airports operation or airline experience

The base pay range for this role is $137,275.00 to $187,000.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
