Sysco Sales Strategy Analyst in Houston, Texas

Job Summary:

Sales Strategy Analyst is professional analytics position responsible for the reporting and analytics needed to support strategic sales initiatives. The analyst will support Sales, managing and leveraging large data sets with strong attention to detail. They will have a creative problem-solving mindset and the ability to develop business solutions. This position will work cross-functionally across sales, merchandising, pricing, and revenue management, with the primary objective of enabling sales leadership to make effective and analytically driven decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility for this position is to provide insights and analytics to support the sales organization

  • Create & execute scheduled reporting: weekly, biweekly, ad hoc reports

  • Extract large data sets to forecast, model business decisions, and conduct strategic analysis to support the organization

  • Maintains reports tracking standardized sales process, KPIs, dashboards

  • Identifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability

  • Work with business owners to identify information needs and develop reporting

  • Create reports of performance and success, pointing out areas in need of improvement and making recommendations

  • Design new data collection models to better collect information

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5 years’ experience managing and analyzing large data sets

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years in a professional analytical role

Experience Preferred:

  • Proven background in performing data mining, analysis, and reporting

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports & deriving insights from data

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel and data manipulation

  • Learn quickly when facing new challenges; thrives on fast-paced environment

  • Flexible; readily accepts change; open to new ideas

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability effectively communicate with internal and external teams

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills including the ability to execute multiple initiatives at the same time

  • Proactive, self-directed, with the ability to structure a weekly schedule to be successful
