The Role: The Senior Commercial Program Manager will be integral to the Global Project Team, focusing on Project GAIA's initiatives related to energy transition within S&P Global Commodity Insights. Project GAIA is a multi-year project that involves a major S&P Global investment to accelerate growth in S&P Global Commodity Insights’ growth in Agribusiness and Metals portfolios by establishing a leadership position in sustainability and energy transition. This person will collaborate closely with project sponsors, crossfunctional teams, assigned project managers and commercial leaders to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for relevant new initiatives. The successful candidate will provide commercial leadership and will be instrumental in guiding and advocating for the project, ensuring successful execution across diverse stakeholders.

The Team: This role is part of the Project GAIA global team at S&P Global Commodity Insights. This role will partner with a committee of stakeholders to build out the strategy, business plan and growth ideas for the project. The Senior Commercial Program manager will work across teams to drive execution between Business Lines, Commercial, Customer Experience, Operations, Legal and Technology. The Impact: This role will spearhead the development and commercialization of Energy Transition products and services within Commodity Insights. The efforts will align priorities across business lines, commercial functions, drive go-to-market strategies, and inform technology prioritization. This person will oversee multiple workstreams within the commercial space, including but not limited to operational, financial review and implementation efforts. This person can impact how quickly Commodity Insights grow in both revenue and market share. The successful candidate will be the main point person for all commercial aspects of this global project.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Operations

• Strategy – Supports Project Sponsors and relevant stakeholders to understand, identify and evaluate new strategic opportunities and growth initiatives for Project GAIA

• Opportunity Evaluation - evaluating innovative ideas, assessing addressable market, transforming ideas into specific projects, development of project plans, allocation/prioritization of resources and monitoring progress. Some examples could include white space analysis, regional analysis, customer persona reviews, commercial go-to-market strategy, and campaigns etc.

• Special projects – Oversees strategic projects from development through successful execution in partnership with senior leadership.

• Business analyses – Conducts analysis to connect and interplay specific needs with applicable interdependencies across the Division and Enterprise, may also include analysis and review of cross-divisional synergy opportunities.

• Communications – Helps drive relevant communication agenda both internally and externally, preparing content for key audiences including Board of Directors, CEO, CFO, Executive Committee, client, and industry groups in close coordination with Project sponsors and relevant stakeholders.

• Create executive summary of milestones and challenges to be reviewed with Business Lines and Management Committee

• Present findings and recommendations to senior commercial leadership and CI leadership as needed

• Operations management, including:

o Manage program and project teams, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives to ensure timely execution and project performance management.

o Manages day-to-day operations, actions, and prepare and organize content for internal and external senior engagements.

o Supports internal and external engagements, including summaries, written articles, speeches, memos, briefings, PowerPoint presentations and Excel analyses.

Stakeholder Relationships

• Partner with the other program managers (technology, product, etc.) to drive an aligned approach across functions for Project GAIA, while providing the commercial input and leadership for the working group

• Cultivates relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive agenda and strategic priorities and ensure alignment across key stakeholders.

• Partners with Finance to model and to define revenue and expenses for specific initiatives and new projects.

• Partner with other areas of the commercial organization, including on the pricing and packaging of the newly developing GAIA offerings.

• Partners with other functional areas as needed

• Participates in relevant committees and communities as appropriate.

• Ensures meetings are well prepared and documented before, during and after sessions.

Financial

• Tracks overall fiscal budget and key metrics for specific initiatives or projects.

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 5 years of Project Management/Program Management

• Commercial or sales experience preferred.

• A thorough understanding of roles and responsibilities within teams across CI

• Business partnering skills – builds and creates rapport across multiple functions in a matrixed environment and can navigate diverse culture and influence stakeholders globally. Ability to influence other functions and teams that do not sit within the same reporting lines.

• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and executive presentations. This person should be able to communicate directly and achieve buy-in across a variety of stakeholders on the most effective path forward.

• Ability to problem solve and prioritize, identify root causes of obstacles, and address fundamental issues.

• Ability to synthesize technical and non-technical details from different teams and determine which information is most relevant for customers, as well as what needs to be shared urgently with internal leadership.

• Ability to quickly collect, organize and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources and in different formats to deliver useful insights.

• Excellent organization, program, and process management skills

• Experience leading multiple projects or workstreams to execute and deliver results on time and on target.

• Manage and work objectively with Confidential information.

• Open to explore innovative ideas, approaches, and challenges.

• Commodities and energy industry knowledge a plus.

• Competent with systems (Salesforce/ Equivalent CRM, MS Office Tools, Data Analytics, BI Tools, Serena, etc.)

• Travel may be required and the ability to adjust to other time zones.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $117,800 to $230,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
