Description

Well-established manufacturing company located in East Houston is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Cost Accountant with experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including FIFO inventory and weighted average cost methods. Senior Cost Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate costing records and perform regular cost audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Calculate and analyze inventory costs using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and weighted average cost methods.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost control measures and process improvements.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to manufacturing costs, including variance analysis and forecasting.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support business planning and decision-making.

  • Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

    Requirements

Senior Cost Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 2+ years of recent experience in manufacturing cost accounting.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work tasks.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
