JOB SUMMARY

As the head of the Data Governance Program, responsible for building, managing, maintaining, and monitoring the data governance program across Sysco and its brands globally. This includes roles and responsibilities, metrics, KPIs, policies, procedures. Additionally, the Data Governance Senior Director will be accountable for the execution and maintenance of the technology platforms related strictly to data governance (e.g. data lineage and ownership).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the Data Governance Committee meetings, working cross functionally across different Sysco geographies, departments, and lines of business

  • Partner with peer organizations including Data COE, Privacy, Legal, Compliance and various lines of business

  • Establish and maintain the necessary policies, standards, and procedures for data governance including broad data taxonomy

  • Define program metrics and KPIs related to data governance, including but not limited to data quality

  • Implement and oversee the technology platforms necessary for the successful execution of data governance across Sysco

  • Develop, deliver and track the completion of data governance training

  • Oversee and facilitate the data steward program globally

  • Ensure the identification of data owners and that individual data domains are adhering to data governance standards

  • In conjunction with the Data Governance Committee develop and execute the data governance strategy including Long Range Planning and facilitate the removal of prioritization conflicts with stakeholders such as the Technology Committee

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • MBA preferred

  • At least 5 years of experience related specifically to Data Governance

  • At least 10 years of relevant data experience across any of the following areas:

  • Reporting & Analytics

  • Data Science

  • Machine Learning

  • Data Operations

  • Master Data Management

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience across any of the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity

  • Privacy

  • Records Retention

  • Experience working in a heavily matrixed and remote environment

  • Experience creating and managing budgets (short term and long term)

  • Broad knowledge of IT data systems and experience managing platforms associated with Data Governance

  • Limited travel may be required to conduct technical meetings and team workshops.
