Robert Half Senior Security Engineer in Houston, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Security Engineer based in Houston, Texas. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our security procedures, collaborating with global teams, and ensuring secure coding practices. This role involves managing security audits, leading incident responses, and continuously evolving our security posture to strengthen our defenses.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement security strategies in collaboration with senior IT leadership and the global security team.

• Uphold corporate security standards and contribute to driving initiatives forward.

• Enhance security operations to focus on threat prediction, real-time monitoring, and prompt response.

• Conduct engaging training sessions on security best practices to empower teams.

• Collaborate with developers to ensure secure coding practices are prioritized.

• Manage and lead audits, smoothly execute existing vendor audits, and lead new vendor security reviews.

• Act as the lead for incident responses, clearly communicating with global stakeholders and driving decisive action.

• Continuously monitor, assess, and recommend improvements to our security posture.

• Leverage skills in Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Technologies, Cloud Technologies, Firewall Technologies, Auditing, AWS Technologies, Configuration Management, Cyber Security, and NERC standards. Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Security Engineer.

• Proficient in Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Technologies.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of Cloud Technologies.

• Expertise in Firewall Technologies and Auditing.

• Must have experience with AWS Technologies and Configuration Management.

• Excellent understanding of Cyber Security principles and best practices.

• Familiarity with NERC standards is a must.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve security issues promptly.

• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex security systems to non-technical staff.

• Must hold relevant industry certifications or be willing to pursue them.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
