Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer in the automotive industry, based in Houston, Texas. This role will require you to work closely with IT management to drive the technical vision of our Linux, Ansible, and Kubernetes based infrastructure. You will be responsible for consulting with business and technical teams and providing high-quality software solutions across all phases of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Share knowledge and skills with team members to foster a collaborative environment

• Design and document processes and procedures to ensure efficient operation of compute and storage environments

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies to provide visionary service and support for customers

• Collaborate across different teams to meet project goals, including working with developers, IT security, and other IT teams across the organization

• Manage and monitor all installed infrastructure systems to ensure their optimal performance

• Proactively ensure high levels of system availability through regular checks and maintenance

• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies to safeguard company data and systems

• Troubleshoot, remediate, and perform root-cause analysis on systems ranging from Linux/Windows servers, compute, storage, AWS, Azure, Active Directory, and other related technologies

• Provide on-call support and systems patching on a scheduled rotation

• Handle consumer and customer data responsibly in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry as a Systems Engineer.

• Proficiency in Red Hat Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is mandatory.

• Must have thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware and Veeam.

• Experience in using Ansible for configuration management is required.

• The applicant should have experience in managing Kubernetes clusters.

• Familiarity with Docker containerization is essential.

• The candidate should have a strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is desirable.

• The applicant must possess the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Must be able to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.

• The candidate should possess excellent documentation skills for creating and maintaining system and process documentation.
