M/I Homes Starts Coordinator in Houston, Texas

Starts Coordinator is accountable for finalizing new home start packages and oversees adherence to the start and warranty processes. Manages, processes, and reports variance costs for field related expenses.

Duties and Responsibilities

Warranty administration:

  • Manage warranty calls - two hours a day on average

  • Process new sales/specs

  • Process warranty invoices

  • Follow up on all homes in process

  • Process fence diagrams for approval and PO creation, request and process invoices

  • Scan and upload redlines from closed homes

  • Move closed homes in Build Pro to completed status

Finalize new home start packages which includes:

  • Request and approve master plans for new communities and plans.

  • Responsible for completing start packages and sending to purchasing for POs

  • Upload documents to Build Pro and issue start memo

  • Docu-Sign send/save items for starts & buyer sign off

  • Posts and maintains home specific data to the extranet

  • Process starts invoices

Managing variance/overage costs includes:

  • Ensure procedures are followed for variance cost requests.

  • Working closely with department managers for variance cost approvals.

  • Reporting & Analyzing variance cost data.

  • Performs additional tasks or projects as requested by Area President or Manager

Requirements

Minimum Education Experience:

High school graduate with basic academic and practical skills gained through school curriculum combined with at least one year of related work experience and/or training; general knowledge of administrative skills and office functions.

Skills and Abilities:

General office and administrative skills to assist in the processing of departmental workflow. Customer-service oriented with professional and courteous attitude. Good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of organization; ability to follow oral and written instructions. Good working knowledge of word processing, estimating and spreadsheet software packages.
