About the Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will help customers successfully operate, maintain, and expand AVEVA Enterprise SCADA products. Your experience with industrial automation, technical support, and critical infrastructure maintenance will play a critical part in your work driving success at our most critical customers.

As a Support Engineer, you will regularly engage with various stakeholder groups, including executives of large enterprises and a cross-functional and geographically dispersed team. You will utilize your relationship management skills and technical credibility to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Help customers maintain the reliability and performance of their systems and address any potential technical problem

  • Research, identify, develop, and recommend corrective measures to address technical issues identified in the field or in-house

  • Assist Project Services Engineers and customers with site-specific difficulties during new site commissioning as well as system upgrades and expansions

  • Resolve technical problems from end customers and Project Services Engineers

  • Identify and qualify product and solution failures and work with Research & Development to replicate the issue and ensure the defect is resolved

  • Tracking issues by entering cases in our Customer Case Management tool

  • Documentation of technical problems and solutions using our Knowledge Base

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in software issue troubleshooting, diagnosis, replication, and problem solving

  • Computer knowledge, particularly relating to server, network and operating system installation and configuration

  • Positive attitude, enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer focused

  • People person and team player, enjoying the cross-functional interaction required for this position

  • Self directed learner with an inquiring mind and experienced at working independently

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in team environment towards a common goal

Work Experience and Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering; preferably Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree with 1 year experience in the implementation and support of industrial automation process controlOR

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Systems Technology or equivalent with 3 years experience in the implementation and support of industrial automation process control

  • 1 year experience in the implementation and support of industrial automation process control

  • 2 years of experience in working with C, C++, and/or C#, preferably in conjunction with MS SQL Server

  • 1 year of experience in working with relational databases, SQL server preferred, working knowledge of stored procedures, triggers, functions, T-SQL

Preference Given to Candidates with the Following Skills and Experience

  • Prior systems integration or project delivery experience with Enterprise SCADA (OASyS) SCADA systems

  • Additional written and spoken language expertise in addition to English

Salary Range:

$63,500.00 - $137,700.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
