MD Anderson Cancer Center Utilities Operations Supervisor in Houston, Texas

SUMMARY

Provides strategic oversight to ensure reliability of the utility generation systems for the south campus. Also ensures efficient operation of the work control and planning teams through effective use of Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Effectively manages critical assets and systems used for generation of chilled water, steam, and other building systems that support patient care, research, and administrative buildings on the south campus. Supervises the maintenance work control and planning operation for all assigned maintenance craftsmen supporting the south campus properties and operations. Strategically develops both preventive and predictive maintenance programs for new and existing equipment assets. Implements the maintenance programs using the CMMS program (Maximo) and manages the process for creation and importation of any new assets being installed as part of new capital improvement projects. Develops reports needed to track performance standards for work execution and maintenance effectiveness for critical systems and utility generation. Manages adherence to regulatory requirements and standards as dictated by CMS / Joint Commission, TCEQ, AAALAC, and other governing bodies. Supervises the work control and planning staff and ensures team members develop and maintain required skills and competencies needed for effectively performing their roles and growing their careers.

Associate's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field. Six years experience of experience in a physical plant environment working with one or more of the following systems: emergency power supply system, steam production, chilled water production, and/or potable water production system to include three years of lead/supervisory experience. May substitute required degree with additional years of related experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
