Job Summary

Description

The primary role of the GCR Survey Management Lead is to support the engineering teams by being GCR’s Survey Management Focal point, maintaining ConocoPhillips internal Compass database, collaborating with directional and survey companies, working with all stakeholders to ensure corporate standards, and assisting the team with data QAQC.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

Survey Focal Point:

  • Managing minor collision risk dispensations

  • Serving as the focal point for Survey Management

  • Overseeing close approach planning

  • Conducting ad hoc error model reviews

  • Maintaining the GCR Gold Database with definitive surveys

  • Acting as the single point of contact (SPOC) for answering collision avoidance questions

  • Performing user acceptance testing (UAT) for new versions of COMPASS

  • Working with engineers to design a fit for purpose survey management program that follows corporate standards

  • Signing off on directional survey corrections to ensure surveys are corrected with the correct algorithms

  • Reviewing and signing off on End of Well Reports (EOWR) and saving them in MaxWell

  • Assisting with and training in real-time AC analysis processes

  • Updating other databases (WellView, Corva, Compass etc.) with definitive surveys

  • Reviewing and signing off on the Well Survey Program

Analyst Support:

  • Providing support by generating Spotfire/PowerBi visualizations

  • Assisting data analytics team with data QA/QC

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • 5+ years of well planning experience in the upstream industry

  • 3+ years of experience in unconventional reservoir plays

  • Advanced proficiency in Landmark EDM (Compass)

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of SQL

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal and team skills

  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement, safety & environmental stewardship, and business ethics

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right

  • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results

  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
