Aerotek Automotive Technician in Howell, Michigan
Responsibilities
Install electric circuits (wiring) for various electrical accessories including lighting, automatic salting controls, sensors, and switches.
Utilize prints and diagrams in the truck build-up processes.
Communicate daily with the manager to assess assigned jobs and identify parts and materials required for build-up.
Work cooperatively and proactively with customers.
Develop continual process improvements with the manager and co-workers.
Deliver and pick up parts as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
High School diploma or equivalent.
Forklift operator certification.
Overhead crane operator certification.
General comprehension of and experience in the truck build-up process.
Understanding of truck components and electrical circuits, including knowledge of current flow laws.
General mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision.
Complete set of hand tools.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, diagrams, schematics, and prints.
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to use tools and operate equipment safely.
Knowledge of computers and various software programs is desirable.
Knowledge of on-board truck computer controls, including electrical multiplexing and CAN Bus systems is desirable.
Manual and finger dexterity.
Capability to lift heavy objects (50 pounds or more).
Ability to twist, bend, reach, and stretch.
Ability to stand for long periods and work long hours.
Tolerance to shop noise and dust.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, as well as hot and cold temperatures.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00
