Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Howell, Michigan

Description Our client is in search of a experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Howell, Michigan. This role primarily involves recording, reconciling, and performing analysis of the company’s financial information in a timely and accurate manner. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be dedicated to various accounting department duties and responsibilities, which will be determined by your demonstrated skills, career development considerations, and the functional needs of the department.

Responsibilities: • Analyze interest expense/income, debt balances, and prepare and maintain debt amortization schedules. • Compile and analyze financial information to support financial statements and management reporting. • Support financial audit requirements and ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures. • Prepare financial reports for management and third-parties. • Analyze sales, inventory balances and cost of goods sold. • Prepare various required governmental forms and assist in gathering, organizing and preparing schedules to support corporate tax returns. • Assist management in compiling annual corporate operating budget and updates as required. • Perform monthly account reconciliations, analysis and reporting. • Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements within the Finance Department. • Participate in cross-functional teams within the Company as appropriate. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant. • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required. • In-depth knowledge and understanding of General Ledger management is necessary. • Experience in creating and maintaining Journal Entries is essential. • Must have experience in performing Month End Close procedures. • Proficiency in using Plex Manufacturing ERP system is a plus. • Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. • Professional certification (such as CPA, CMA) is a plus but not required. • Familiarity with accounting regulations and standards. • Must possess strong computer skills, especially with an ERP system.
