POSITION SUMMARY:   Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Senior Quality Technician drives workload priorities within the manufacturing and quality team such as determining the quality level of product and processes by inspecting, testing evaluating data, throughout the product life cycle to determine and maintain quality and reliability of end customer expectations. In this role you will also be responsible for mentoring others and helping guide product issues to resolution.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as subject matter expert in Determining quality level of product and processes by inspecting, testing, evaluating data; judging acceptability to requirements; and reporting results in a meaningful manner. Inspections may include, receiving, in process, first piece, or pre-shipment checks.

  • Responsible for validating conformance of complex components using multiple inspection methodologies including hard gaging, CMM’s and paperwork reviews.

  • Reviews, produces & evaluates Certificate of Conformances & Analysis from suppliers & for customers proactively.

  • Reads, interprets & evaluates GD&T for First Article/source inspections of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications utilizing digital and analog measuring equipment.

  • Act as point person for Quality Manager and Engineers to help lead both internal/external audits in production areas and keeps the supervisor/team lead aware of any problems or potential problems in the quality of the product for timely processing and control of nonconforming materials including support for obtaining cause, corrective, and preventive actions.

  • Leads specialized activities on a High performance Team, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives for production of continuous improvement such as leading team improvement boards, Starpoints , and overall workplace culture engagement.

  • Acts as Team Leader support of the Quality production, reviews and allocates daily workload to team Trains new quality technicians within the HPT & certifies their ability on job skills matrix.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations, quality requirements, and other duties and projects as needed. Sustain Safety and 5S program, use appropriate PPE for designated area, which includes painting/ clean room environments, hazardous chemical mixing, material handling, and exposure to milling and plating operations.  

    QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:

  • Citizen or have US Permanent Resident Status required.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • 4+ years of quality experience in manufacturing, or demonstrated competency required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree a plus. Certified Quality Technician, Inspector highly recommended, (ASQ) or Six Sigma Green Belt a plus. 

  • Experience with various inspection tools/equipment (VMM, Verniers, Keithley Multi-Meter).

  • Experience with quality standards (ISO, AS, IATF) is preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with others internally and externally to meet time sensitive deadlines.

  • Ability to perform advanced math, reading, writing and computer skills such as multiplication, and ratios/fractions. Microsoft Office suite and computational/ process monitoring software preferred.   

  • Demonstrate effective attention to detail across organization with emphasis on verbal/written English communication skills.     

  • Ability to stand for long durations up to 8 hours, and lift and or move up to 40 lbs.  

  • Comfortable working daily with/ or around hazardous chemicals
