Job responsibilities to include: Working as part of a team of engineers, chemists, and technicians providing support to NASA while maintaining a strong consciousness about safety. Operation/testing, method development, sampling, analyzing test results, routine maintenance, and calibration of all analytical equipment. Work with project level and flight system engineers as they define their operational requirements, system performance, configuration, component selection, safety, and quality before and during the testing phases. o This will include involvement in the payload and project Test Readiness Reviews (TRR). Also work with NASA Quality to verify testing procedures.

Job Requirements: An MS in chemistry is required. A Ph.D. is desired. A degree from an ABET-accredited university is preferred. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum 4 years of experience; MS with at least 8 years of experience. Required: Strong skillset in Qualitative and Quantitative analysis of volatile air (atmosphere) using Micro GC, Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), FTIR, GC-FID and other various analytical instrumentation. Skills in instrumentation and maintenance of GCs and related analytical instrumentation. Experience should include chemical interpretation and calculations of GC data, as well as operation, method development, calibration, and routine maintenance for all analytical instrumentation.
