MITRE’s Missile Defense Programs Sensors and C4ISR Department (N262) focuses on the ground-based sensors, space systems, Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), and Cyber Security programs in the Missile Defense System. Our primary areas of concentration include defense and space systems, sensors, systems integration, systems engineering, missions and operations engineering, cyber security, defensive cyber operations, and software development.
The job is a Huntsville, AL-based position; this work location is required to effectively foster staff relationships and shape the direct work program.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop integration and testing strategies between multiple MDA elements to ensure successful connectivity and functionality of the system
Assess performance of systems, software, and hardware engineering studies to inform technical and programmatic decisions
Work as part of an integrated product team environment partnering technical outcomes across multiple stakeholders and organizations
Promotion of collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organization, harnessing diverse perspectives and solutions to address sponsor challenges
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Prior experience as an intern at MITRE in the last 12 months.
Bachelor degree in a technical major (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field)
Ability to define, develop, and deliver high quality technical work products
Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies
Interest in radars, Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber Security (C4) systems and systems engineering
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work in multi-disciplinary teams across organizations
Familiarity with software language(s) such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++
Ability to possess/maintain a DoD Secret clearance
This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on radar or C4 systems engineering
Experience working in Missile Defense programs
Masters Degree in technical major (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc)
Active DoD Secret or higher clearance
