Summary Description Of Position

[The Business Development Director, Facilities and Engineering is responsible for the preparation, approval, and execution of the capture plan, schedule, win strategy, and budget associated with Facilities Operations and Maintenance and Engineering business opportunities. Influences and collaborates with internal and external team members to identify new business opportunities and produce winning solutions to enable acquisition of new business for the organization and its customers. Identifies and targets specific agencies for growth opportunities based on past performance and contract placement, establishes leads with and contacts potential customers, and formulates strategies and plans to close on the opportunities. Minimum Requirements And Qualification

  • Bachelors degree in business, engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated industry-related BD experience related to capturing and winning Federal Government opportunities.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in contract or subcontract program management.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and other MS products
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
  • An analytical mind and good math skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.

Major Responsibility Areas And Duties

Primarily responsible for identifying new business opportunities with a focus on facilities OandM and management, logistics/warehousing/supply, energy engineering, aviation maintenance and logistics, computer aided design/engineering, and other technical support solutions.

Prioritize, lead, and execute capture strategies.

May lead capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business.

Maintain a viable pipeline aligned with current and projected company NAICS, size standards, certifications, and past performance qualifications.

Establish leads with potential customers, develop and provide company capabilities briefings.

Attend marketing and business development conferences/seminars/industry days/site visits and provide information for bid/no bid.

Foster long term business relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors

Leverage relationships with industry partners to identify and qualify opportunities.

Initiate contact with teaming partners and developing work arrangements.

Form teaming strategies to optimize win probability.

[Manage and participate in all aspects of proposal development (proposal writing, editing, illustration, production efforts, etc.) from assignment and receipt of RFP, through delivery and receipt by the customer.
