SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented Configuration Analyst with a focus on maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of our remote IT infrastructure sites to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama

As a Configuration Analyst, you will be responsible for the creation, integrity and reliability of the configuration management database, ensuring that all information related to the hardware, software, and associated documentation at remote sites is current, accessible, and secure. Your expertise will support the overall service management process, aid in effective change management, and ensure compliance with industry and company standards.

Responsibilities :

• Establish and maintain an up-to-date CMDB with detailed records of all remote IT infrastructure assets including hardware configurations, software installations, and network settings.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure that configuration records align with the actual infrastructure in place at remote sites.

• Work closely with IT support teams to understand and document the configuration requirements of remote site infrastructure.

• Collaborate with network and system administrators to verify that remote site configurations support the organization's goals for reliability and performance.

• Oversee the version control and change management processes to ensure that all configuration changes at remote sites are accurately logged and communicated.

• Develop and maintain clear and accurate documentation of configuration procedures and standards.

• Provide reports and insights to IT management on the status, issues, and risks associated with remote site IT configurations.

• Respond to inquiries and assist in troubleshooting configuration issues at remote sites.

• Participate in planning and executing IT infrastructure projects, ensuring that changes are documented and reflected in the CMDB.

• Assist in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures for effective configuration management across remote sites.

• Coordinate with IT compliance and audit teams to ensure remote site infrastructure adheres to regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Qualifications

Required Education :

Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

Qualifications :

• Experience in configuration management or a related IT role with a focus on remote infrastructure.

• Proven experience managing CMDBs and documenting IT infrastructure configurations.

• Familiarity with configuration management tools and software.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote working environment.

• Experience with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and best practices, such as ITIL.

• Relevant certifications (such as ITIL, CMDB administration, or configuration management) are desirable.

Clearance :

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance; Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance required to start.
