Actalent GIS Analyst in Huntsville, Alabama
Job Title: Geospatial AnalystJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Analyst to join our team. This is a remote position, requiring U.S. citizenship. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting the Janus Geography contract and performing feature data extraction.
Responsibilities
Perform feature data extraction from satellite imagery, including topographic features such as roads, rivers, and buildings.
Consistently complete feature data extraction tasks within estimated hours and meet quality requirements.
Work in a production environment with goals for quality and timeliness.
Communicate effectively with remote team members to meet project goals.
Use personal computer to access assigned tasks and work remotely.
Essential Skills
Experience supporting the Janus Geography contract performing feature data extraction.
BS degree in Geography, GIS, or related field with multiple GIS courses or equivalent GIS experience.
Basic skillsets in imagery analysis, feature data extraction from satellite imagery, and digital mapping.
Proven resource on Janus program.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work well with other team members in a remote environment.
Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week as needed to meet deadlines.
Work Environment
This is a 100% fully remote position, currently funded through the end of 2025 with the contract extending through 2026. Team members will be required to use their personal computer to access their assigned tasks and work from home. The role involves sitting at a desk and working at a computer for at least eight hours per day.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
