QTEC Aerospace is seeking an IT NETWORK ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals.The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will be part of the Platform and Infrastructure(PandI) information technology team.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Assist the senior system administrators and government network subject matter experts with the management and sustainment of network components supporting associated support networks

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education with at least 5 years of professional experience. We will also consider new college grads with appropriate degrees and clearances.
• Must meet minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification with any of the following certifications (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and testing
• Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting
• Basic knowledge of network testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls
• Knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS) and data encryption products
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers
• Excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
• Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Any knowledge, skill sets, or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark)
• Experience in Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager or Solarwinds or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp or Gigastore))
• Certifications in the industry vendor Juniper or Cisco

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
