Shifts:

2nd/B: (Monday-Friday 3pm-12am)

Weekend/C: (5:00am - 5:00pm Fri-Sun, 4 hours remote to complete full time schedule)

Overview:

Join our dynamic team dedicated to supporting launch vehicle subassembly testing. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll ensure the secure, efficient delivery of rocket engines for offsite testing. This role involves translating engineering intent into consistent delivery processes, focusing on securing, preserving, and rigging rocket engines for safe shipment.

You will prepare engine test hardware for remote shipment, assist with test stand setups at the Marshall Space Flight Center, and develop detailed work instructions for handling and shipping engine hardware. This position requires experience in equipment shipment, installation, commissioning, and process documentation, with a focus on traditional manufacturing support.

Responsibilities:

• Develop work instructions for rigging, packaging, and preserving rocket engines and ground support equipment.

• Inspect returned items for shipping damage and update engineering documents as needed.

• Design and procure custom shipping equipment and materials.

• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners for timely delivery of shipping hardware.

• Set up engines and ground support equipment for tests at the Marshall Space Flight Center.

• Improve tooling, ergonomics, safety, and quality related to rocket engine transport.

• Manage hardware configuration and maintain records throughout the build and test process.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor"s degree in Engineering. Ideally Mechanical Engineering.

• 3 or more years of manufacturing engineering experience in machinery installation and commissioning.

• Knowledge of jigs, fixtures, test tooling, standard work, and setup instructions.

• Proficiency in CAD, schedule tracking, technical report writing, and standard software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).

• Ability to develop processes compliant with AS9100 standards.

• U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the work.

• Ability to support second shift and/or weekends.

• Willingness to travel 10-20% for remote test support.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with design systems (CREO, AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).

• Familiarity with Material Resource Planning systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, CostPoint, Epicor, Job Boss).

• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (Solumina, Maximo, CostPointMES).

• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems (Windchill, Team Center, Enovia).
