Position Description:

We are seeking Model and Simulation Principal Engineer that will support Digital Simulation and Analysis Center (DSAC) lab management efforts at the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), Redstone Arsenal, AL or local facilities in the Huntsville, AL area.

Job Description

Support the IVandV of the modeling and simulations resident in the DSAC.

Establish operating environments for various model and simulation applications and systems.

Support operating system installation, compliance of the system, application installation, and supporting authorization processes.

Support application updates, and data management.

Support hardware-in-the loop (HWIL) objectives.

Support establishment analysis environments in a systematic and scalable manner.

Utilize and develop cutting-edge mod / sim tools and algorithms to help address some of the most challenging issues regarding Directed Energy, lethality for the Department of Defense (DOD).

Develop code / scripts to develop algorithms, perform analyses, and automate data processing to model space conflict scenarios for system evaluation and mission effectiveness.

Work in a collaborative team environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems.

Support management of the lab including software management, enhancements, supporting visitors, creating procedures as an extension of the Government.

Support develop host system (interface) requirements for the system(s) that will be required to demonstrate prototype performance/capabilities.

Decompose prototype requirements into component requirements in support of Preliminary Design Reviews.

Decompose applications created by other projects, and reestablish those applications within the new domain.

Support complete data collection, disaster recovery, and other risk mitigation procedures.

Conduct regular working groups to establish and maintain the performance and functional requirements for the prototypes.

Develop key system engineering products to include functional block diagrams, physical block diagrams and demonstration component lists.

Support the Program Manager in establishing and tracking System Engineering milestones necessary to maintain program success.

Conduct reviews with Government customers and establishes test plans for review.

Be capable of providing technical details in a relatable and understandable manner for various audiences.

Supports Integrated Product Teams, system engineering development for reviews and products.

Required Qualifications

Must have an ABET Accredited Master of Science Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent and at least 10 years of related experience.

Must have managed modeling and simulation lab environments.

Must be familiar with Army acquisition processes.

Must be familiar with how to manage many projects simultaneously with success.

Must be familiar with DoD, U.S. Army, NIST standards.

Must be familiar with MatLab, various Linux operating systems, Artificial Intelligence applications, SQL, SysML.

Must be familiar with MS Office/Project/Visio and other productivity products.

Travel Requirements

Occasional Travel; 10% or less.

If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time.

Clearance:

Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain the clearance.
