The ECMS Aerospace Business, headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey, is the world’s leading supplier of catalytic ozone converters, ozone-VOC converters, and VOZC to the global Aerospace Industry. As the Product Engineer, Aerospace – Huntsville, AL you will LEAD by……

The Product Engineer function in the ECMS Aerospace Business is accountable, and primarily responsible, for those AS9145/APQP Phase 3, 4, and 5 technical elements related to product design and development. This includes accountability/responsibility for driving new product introduction and integration into existing production, supply chain, and quality processes, including the Initial Serial Production process. The function will coordinate and be the technical lead on continuous improvement initiatives that are originated within the Production, Supply Chain, and Quality functions, including obsolescence resolution and new vendor certification.

The Product Engineer function, resident in Huntsville, AL at the ECMS Aerospace Business manufacturing site, will be the key technical liaison to the Production, Supply Chain, and Quality functions and teams, and will provide on-site technical support for customer-initiated visits, assessments, and reviews.

The primary responsibilities of the Product Engineer function include but are not limited to the following.

  • Introduce and integrate new product/processes – mechanical assemblies and catalytic coatings on metal and ceramic supports – into ongoing production, supply chain, and quality processes.

  • Accountable/responsible for technical elements of Initial Serial Production process

  • Responsible for APQP Key Business Deliverables (KBDs) including but not limited to PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram

  • Technical lead (responsible/accountable) on continuous improvement activities originating in the Production, Supply Chain, and Quality functions, including mechanical fixture development, obsolescence resolution, and new vendor qualification

  • Request and coordinate required process, design, and testing resources from third parties, in the fulfillment of engineering design deliverables, including prototype development and testing

  • Design and Development organization representative in customer visits, audits, and assessments at Huntsville manufacturing site

Your elements for success……

  • A BS degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.

  • 3+ years professional experience supporting technical elements of process/product development and new product introduction in a production environment.

  • Aerospace experience preferred.

  • Deep, practical, and demonstrated experience of at least 3 years applying APQP principles in the design and production of mechanical parts and/or sub-components and catalyst coatings on metal and ceramic supports, preferably in Aerospace applications or related emissions control applications.

  • Experience with AS9100D/AS9145 Quality Management System preferred

  • Demonstrated work experience in technical project management and execution

  • Broad working knowledge of mechanical design and assembly, especially TIG welding processes of aerospace materials – stainless steel, Inconel, titanium.

  • Experience with Aircraft OEM supplier requirements strongly preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative skills, combined with personal motivation and personal adaptability. Demonstrated experience in independent work within a collaborative team. Exceptional problem-solving skills.

  • Must be comfortable in both manufacturing and business setting, including customer facing meetings on-site for audits, assessments, and technical reviews

  • Expect travel up to 10% for business alignment meetings and to support design and development activities, including third-party testing

Actual pay will be determine based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
