For immediate consideration please email [emailprotected].Job Responsibilities:Perform engineering studies to determine the best, most safe systems and equipment, considering all issues related to personnel and facility safety.Develop, implement, and monitor company safety programs and policies.Ensure compliance with government health and safety regulations.Conduct employee training in emergency response, life safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical and fire hazards.Perform observations, audits, accident investigations, record data, and prepare recommendations.Conduct safety surveys and recommend corrective actions where occupational hazards exist.Scope:Receive assignments in the form of objectives with goals and processes to meet outlined goals.Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives.Administer company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.Recommend changes to unit or sub-unit policies.Problem Complexity:Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of the situation or data requires review of identifiable factors.Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.Act as an advisor to unit or sub-unit, becoming actively involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems.Impact:Contribute to the development of the organization's goals and objectives.Decisions and achievements may have a direct effect on project schedules.Liaison:Frequently interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels.Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.Freedom to Act:Plan and conduct work using independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard scientific and engineering practices.May provide guidance to less experienced engineering personnel.Review procedures for compliance with environmental regulations.Leadership and Management:Has general mastery of the job.May serve in a lead role and train others.Typical Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a scientific or equivalent discipline.7+ years of related experience.Job Type:EngineeringPosition Description:With minimal direction, perform tasks necessary to ensure the identification of Safety Critical Items and documentation of hazards within systems using various analysis tools and techniques.Understand the basic elements of system safety engineering, including hazard analyses, hazard categorization, end effects, causal analyses, mitigation requirements identification, documentation, tracking and implementing, and residual risk assessment.Perform typical analyses such as Fault Tree Analyses, Hazard Analyses, hazard mitigation, Safety risk assessments, and system residual risk assessments.Review product systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications, and operations, and establish safety requirements for assigned systems.Develop safety documents as required to support customer and test, operational, or range requirements.Participate in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assist in identifying causes and corrective actions.Perform audits of operational areas and report effectiveness.EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
